M-Net will broadcast the coronation on Saturday of King Misuzulu KwaZwelithini live from the Moses Mabhida stadium on its Mzansi Magic (DStv 161) channel from 10:00, with SABC1 that will do a half-hour prime time highlights package on Saturday night, and with South Africa's three TV news channels silent on their plans.

Bayede: The Royal Zulu Coronation Live from Moses Mabhida stadium will be on Mzansi Magic on Saturday 29 October from 10:00 but Mzansi Magic hasn't specified any presenters who will be anchoring coverage of the pivotal moment in the history of the Zulu royal family in South Africa.

"We're honoured to be broadcasting this momentous occasion to DStv subscribers," says Shirley Adonisi, M-Net director of local entertainment channels, in a statement about the programming note.

"This is a historic event and we are proud that this will be aired on Mzansi Magic for millions of viewers to see. We look forward to what will be a momentous broadcast, and are excited to bring in Mzansi Magic viewers along to witness a ceremony steeped in rich history and tradition."

SABC1 will be showing the King Misuzulu KwaZwelithini Coronation at 19:30 on Saturday night as a half-hour TV special with highlights from the day's proceedings.

Neither eNCA (DStv 403), SABC News (DStv 404) nor Newzroom Afrika (DStv 405) as South Africa's three local TV news channels bothered to issue any media advisories with programming notes about their live coverage plans of Saturday's Zulu king coronation.
