An epic episode of Survivor South Africa: Immunity Island awaits viewers on Thursday tonight on M-Net (DStv 101) at 19:30 when the two tribes merge in a supersized episode that is even longer than the already lengthened episodes and that ends in a jaw-dropping tribal council that is one for the record books.
TVwithThinus saw tonight's episode before broadcast as a press screener sent to media with Thursday's episode that ends in an unbelievable and spectacular tribal council "fight club" and multiple unexpected, must-see and truly jaw-dropping twists.
Thursday's episode of Survivor SA: Immunity Island is also several minutes longer in duration than the season's already longer episodes, enabling viewers to get to see more of the machinations of the various castaways and to understand their motivations and decisions better.
Asked about tonight's longer than usual episode, M-Net told TVwithThinus in response to a media enquiry that "M-Net made the decision early in the post-production
process to increase the duration of the merge episode".
"With the formation of
the merged tribe a little more time was required in order to unpack and do
justice to the dense stories and new dynamics that will culminate in the first merged tribal council."
Tonight's Survivor SA: Immunity Island episode on M-Net will be marked by chaotic negotiations, unabashed Idol hunting and plenty of knife sharpening in
a dramatic episode where Vuna and Zamba become one, at merge.
"For some, the merge offers salvation – but for others, it could be a torch-snuffing moment," says M-Net.
A power struggle between the factions makes victory in this season's first Individual Immunity Challenge, key. Meanwhile, some castaways struggle to find the line
between confidence and overconfidence when dealing with those they see as
being below them on the pecking order.
Between Anela's "No Vote" and Tribal
Insurance, Anesu's Tribal Pass and Tyson's Hidden Immunity Idol that are all in play, an epic showdown is looming, making it impossible to even try to guess who is going to become the 9th castaway getting voted out of the game and who will become the first member of this season's jury.
