The first 5 episodes of the upcoming reality series of the Big Brother Naija season 5 winner Lekan Agbeleshe, known as Laycon, will become available from 11 February on MultiChoice's video streaming service Showmax not just in Nigeria and South Africa but in several countries outside of Africa for viewing by Africans who no longer live on the continent.

I Am Laycon is MultiChoice Nigeria and Showmax's first Showmax Nigerian Original series and will be available to Showmax subscribers in the United Kingdom, Italy, France, Australia and 23 other countries.

I Am Laycon follows Laycon's fame-infused life as he is trying to build a music career following his exposure in the Big Brother Nigeria house. Big Brother Naija alums from the 5th season, Lilo Aderogba and Victoria "Vee" Adeyele, will make appearances in the reality series.

I Am Laycon will be available for streaming in Andorra, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Iceland, Indonesia, Ireland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, San Marino, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.

I Am Laycon will have 10 episodes, with the first 5 episodes starting on 11 February, and the next 5 episodes beginning 4 March 2021.

"Big Brother Naija has a huge diaspora audience who followed Laycon’s journey while he was in the house. With the launch of his own reality show, it was important for us to make this content available to fans in as many countries as possible," says Yolisa Phahle, MultiChoice Group CEO of general entertainment and connected video.

"We believe in the power of African stories and are leading the way in making sure that they can be enjoyed by the diaspora and a growing international audience who we believe will love Laycon’s universal story."

"Showmax is committed to supporting homegrown talent in Nigeria," says Yolisa Phahle.

"Laycon is a hugely inspirational figure and the perfect choice to kickstart our original content here. Fans across Africa tuned in to see what it takes to win Big Brother Naija, so we're excited to take those fans along with Laycon on this journey as he adjusts to fame and life outside the house."

Laycon, in prepared quote, says "Music, family and friendship are extremely important to me and I’m excited that my fans around the world can join me as I explore these different sides of me on I Am Laycon".
