Idols guitar player Raymond Green recuperating after freak fall from the stage of Mzansi Magic's reality singing show, will have to undergo multiple surgeries.

The Idols guitar player Raymond Green (40) is recuperating after a freak fall from the stage of the reality singing show broadcast on Mzansi Magic (DStv 161).

Raymond Green was rushed to hospital on 3 October after he fell off the Idols stage and suffered multiple injuries in the freak accident. The accident happened when he tried to go down one of the stage shafts during a rehearsal on the Saturday earlier this month.

SIC Entertainment produces the 16th season of Idols for M-Net's Mzansi Magic channel.

Raymond Green cracked his elbow and pelvis in the accident and also tore his liver. He will have to undergo multiple surgeries.


"Mzansi Magic has extended its wishes of a speedy and full recovery to respected musician and Idols band member Raymond Green, following a freak accident on the set of Idols SA," Nomsa Philiso, director of local entertainment channels at M-Net, told TVwithThinus in a statement in response to a media enquiry.

"The renown guitarist and valued member of the production team was admitted to hospital following his injury, where he is receiving the necessary medical care."
