kykNET has released the short film nominees for its 9th Silwerskermfees Afrikaans film festival with the comedy Die Begrafnis (The Funeral) that scores the most with 7 nominations, followed by Gebles with 6 nominations, Oedipus: Die Musical - 'n Dokumentêr with 5 nominations and the dramas Rooilug and Hoe om 'n Perd te Teken each roping in 4 nominations.
The 9th Silwerskermfees is taking place at The Bay Hotel in Camps Bay, Cape Town with the nominees for best feature film that will be released on Saturday and with an awards events set for tomorrow evening where the winners of both the short films section and feature films division will be announced.
Fourteen short films are competing in the short film division, of which each has a running length of 22 minutes.
