Netflix commissions new animation series, Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous, with stranded teenagers trying to survive among the Isla Nublar dinosaurs.
Netflix has commissioned a new animation series, Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous, that will become available sometime in 2020 and is set just after the 2015-film Jurassic World with Chris Pratt.
Produced by DreamWorks Animation, Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous will tell the story of 6 teenagers who are stranded on Isla Nublar after the dinosaurs go wild and escape.
The teenagers have to work together to try and survive on the dangerous island after they attend a new adventure camp on the opposite side of Isla Nublar where they're meant to embark on a fun, guided adventure that will introduce them to all variety of prehistoric creatures brought to life through the power of modern genetic engineering.
When a dinosaur-related incident causes chaos, they have to try and make their way to safety when the creatures roam free.
While the human teenager characters appear more stylistically created in Netflix's first promotional image for the series, the trailer for Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous features a Velociraptor in the jungle in incredible 3D animation, suggesting that the various dinosaurs will have a very realistic, animated look within the series.
Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous is executive produced by Steven Spielberg, Frank Marshall, and Colin Trevorrow with Scott Kreamer and Lane Lueras who are the showrunners and also get executive producer credit.
