Sky News to live stream an insider's look of its newsroom for 17 hours using 32 cameras to mark its 30th anniversary on 5 February.


Sky News (DStv 402) will be broadcasting live stream coverage of the Sky News newsroom for 17 hours online on Tuesday, 5 February to give the public an insider's view as the TV news channel marks its 30th anniversary on that day.

Sky News that launched on 5 February 1989 will show the inner workings of its newsroom in London in the United Kingdom with 32 cameras and microphones that will be installed in the newsroom that will show a live feed on 5 February for 17 hours between 07:30 and 00:30 the next morning.

Sky News' corporate offices will be without cameras and microphones where Sky News staffers will be able to conduct off-camera conversations and meetings in so-called "safe zones".

Dan Williams, Sky News' head of politics, told staffers in an email that "for the day we will all need to be very conscious that we are being filmed and the obvious implications that has".
