THE END OF THE HAND. Netflix cancels Marvel's Iron Fist with Finn Jones after two seasons.

Netflix has cancelled the low-rated and critically panned Marvel series, Iron Fist after two seasons, making it the first Marvel drama series on Netflix getting cancelled.

Iron Fist with Finn Jones and Jessica Henwick, was the 4th series in a four-show TV deal since 2013 between Disney's Marvel and Netflix, and the first to get the chop due to its underwhelming under-performance.

"Marvel's Iron Fist will not return for a third season on Netflix, says Netflix and Marvel in a joint statement.

"Everyone at Marvel Television and Netflix is proud of the series and grateful for all of the hard work from our incredible cast, crew and showrunners. We're thankful to the fans who have watched these two seasons, and for the partnership we've shared on this series. While the series on Netflix has ended, the immortal Iron Fist will live on."

The Iron Fist cancellation leaves The Punisher, Daredevil, Jessica Jones and Luke Cage as Marvel series on Netflix. There's also no word yet on whether there would be a second season of The Defenders on Netflix in which all of the superheroes appear together.

The third season of Daredevil will become available on Netflix on 19 October.

Netflix ordered a third season of Jessica Jones with Krysten Ritter in April and is expected to order a third season of Luke Cage soon. Netflix ordered a second season of The Punisher with Jon Bernthdal late last year just after the first season was made available.
