Roswell reboot developed with an 'alien immigrant' twist: Daughter of undocumented immigrants fall in love with police officer who's an alien.
Fifteen years after the science fiction drama series Roswell ended, the youth-centric is the latest being resurrected with a reboot.
Roswell, based on the series of book Roswell High, had Jason Behr, Shiri Appleby and Katherine Heigl as part of the ensemble cast and all 3 seasons were broadcast in South Africa.
The new Roswell is produced by Amblin Television, Bender Brown Prods and Warner Bros. TV and will again revolve around of young people living in the town of Roswell in America close to the Mexico border.
Kevin Kelly Brown who was an executive producer on the original series will again be executive producer on the Roswell reboot. Carina Adly MacKenzie will write and also be an executive producer.
The new Roswell will have an "alien immigration" twist says the producers in an official description: "After reluctantly returning to her tourist-trap hometown of Roswell, New Mexico, the daughter of undocumented immigrants discovers a shocking truth about her teenage crush who is now a police officer: He’s an alien who has kept his unearthly abilities hidden his entire life."
"She protects his secret as the two reconnect and begin to investigate his origins, but when a violent attack and long-standing government cover-up point to a greater alien presence on Earth, the politics of fear and hatred threaten to expose him and destroy their deepening romance."
