ITV Choice (DStv 123) has scheduled two documentaries to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the death of Princess Diana.
ITV Choice will broadcast Diana and the Paparazzi on 31 August and Diana: The Day the World Cried on 1 September.
■ Diana
and the Paparazzi on Thursday 31 August at 20:00 looks at how she used the media and the paparazzi in her favour.
As the most photographed woman on Earth, the documentary explores Princess Diana'a "love-hate" relationship with the media.
Twenty years since her tragic death in a Paris car crash,
those closest to Diana reveal how she enjoyed using the press for her own
ends and to make sure that her pictures told a story she wanted.
These people include her brother, her personal bodyguard, her
press spokesman, her favourite journalist and the photographers and paparazzi
who put her on the front pages.
Many stories about Diana are told exclusively
and for the first time, including the truth behind some of the most iconic
images of her.
■ Diana: The Day The World Cried broadcast on Friday 1 September at 20:00 will be shown on ITV Choice within
24 hours of its premiere in the United Kingdom.
The documentary, narrated by Kate Winslet, is the story of
that day - her funeral - as told by people who were there.
Included are some of the
famous faces at Westminster Abbey to those behind the scenes such as the
funeral’s chief architect Sir Malcolm Ross who had just six days to plan the
whole event.
There's also the chief pallbearer Captain Richard Williams and the former Royal Protection
Officer who looked after Diana and the two Princes and travelled in the hearse
with Diana’s coffin.
