Here's the latest news about TV that I read, and that you should too:
■ Nigerians on a rampage against MTN and MultiChoice.
Nigerians on Thursday threaten MultiChoice Nigeria and MTN Nigeria to leave the West African country within 48 hours.
Nigerians burnt the South African flag, and vandalise like animals; plundered MTN in Nigeria as they ripped TV sets off the wall, stole and destroyed property and even physically attack customers as they went on a looting rampage.
Nigerians now wants to "clear the madness with madness".
A week before M-Net's Africa Magic Viewers' Choice Awards 2017 (AMVCA 2017) taking place in Lagos, protesters say they will bring down MTN cellphone masts and target DStv Nigeria and Shoprite Nigeria. The MultiChoice Nigeria offices were protected by heavy security and police.
Only about 100 protestors showed up outside DStv and MTN offices in Nigeria.
Meanwhile 120 South African companies in Nigeria are now at risk of "attacks".
■ Meanwhile a Nigerian lawmaker wants MultiChoice Africa's "immoral" Big Brother Naija off the air.
Apparently the TV show filled with obscene displays that permeate the show does more damage that the trash looting and stealing in the streets.
- Nigeria's National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) is asked to ban Big Brother Naija because of "obscenity, eroticism and idleness". The NBC is good with banning TV shows.
A Nigerian pastor has decided to put a curse on Big Brother Naija on DStv - honestly you can make this trash up even if you wanted to!
- Evicted housemate Cocolce is already stripping for a magazine, Gifty says she doesn't have a sex tape and people are wondering if Big Brother Naija is raising Africa's "stupid" index.
Is Big Brother Naija just an audition for "wannabe porns"?
"Betsy, talk!"
