PCCW Global's OnTapTV.com video streaming service goes down without explanation; service unavailable today to users who couldn't access the service.

PCCW Global's OnTapTV.com subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) went down today with no word or explanation from the company as to what happened and why it occurred.

The streaming service's non availability in South Africa on Wednesday comes days after the cellphone operator MTN suffered a widespread data service outage between Sunday and Tuesday.

So far there's been no statement from OnTapTV.com about its service outage on Wednesday, why it happened, how it was fixed and what it's doing to prevent a recurrence.

In South Africa OnTapTV.com competes with the likes of Netflix South Africa, Naspers' ShowMax and MTN's VU.
