The SABC will once again disrupt its TV channel's schedules from January 2015 due to soccer broadcasting commitments with viewers who will have to look elsewhere and on different channels for their shows, the public broadcaster revealed.

The SABC told TV critics and the media at its Summer TV preview screening held in Johannesburg that the TV schedules of SABC1, SABC2 and SABC3 will again be disrupted in January 2015 with SABC1 and SABC3 which will broadcast AFCON 2015 soccer matches, and with programming from SABC1 moving to SABC2.

"SABC1, the 'Home of Soccer' will in the month of January 2015 be hosting the continent's soccer tournament AFCON 2015. A transversal schedule arrangement will be in place during the AFCON games which will see a large number of popular SABC1 programmes move to SABC2, and SABC3 broadcasting some of the games live," says the SABC.

Besides the December schedule disruption and pre-emptions on SABC3 which sees Days of Our Lives and The Bold and the Beautiful disappear for several days, viewers will see futher pre-emptions during January 2015 on SABC3 due to cricket coverage.

SABC3 says it will be showing "the West Indies tour Cricket World Cup T20I in January 2015 which will see some of our daily programmes move to different timeslots, including Isidingo and the news bulletins".
