Universal Channel (DStv 117) is adding a brand-new American drama, Taxi Brooklyn, as an exclusive territory premiere to the channel's line-up on MultiChoice's DStv with the series set to start on 15 September at 20:50.
Taxi Brooklyn will start on the Universal Channel very soon after the United States where it began in June and is currently at episode 6 of a 12 episode first season.
Taxi Brooklyn has Chyler Leigh as NYPD detective Caitlyn "Cat" Sullivan and Jacky Ido as streetwise French African immigrant taxi driver Leo Romba from Marseille.
She loses her driver's licence and driving privileges through some kind of offense, he needs help because he lied on his immigration forms, and they team up in Taxi Brooklyn to catch the bad guys by him giving her rides (and stopping planes) in and around New York, and she helping him with immigration and deportation issues.
Then there's also an issue around a mystery involving the murder of Cat's father.
Taxi Brooklyn is based on the movie Taxi written by Luc Besson.
