Hip hop star Ludacris is the host and performances will include a performance from Michael Jackson's well-received posthumous album "Xscape" and a special performance from Pitbull and Jennifer Lopez who will be debuting the official Brazil 2014 World Cup Anthem "We Are One (Ole Ola)".
Jenifer Lopez is also set to be the first female to receive the prestigious Icon Award for her remarkable contributions to popular music on the evening.
Shakira and Robin Thicke have recently been added to
the line-up of performing artists, as well as Miley Cyrus, Katy Perry, John Legend,
Ariana Grande and Iggy Azalea.
Channel O will repeat the 2014 Billboard Music Awards on Monday 19 May at 19:00 and again on Saturday, 24 May at 16:30.
