M-Net appoints Leo Smit as new brand manager for kykNET.


Leo Smit has been appointed as kykNET's (DStv 144) new brand manager, the next chapter in his media biz career of 13 years.

Leo Smit started his career in Los Angeles, working on independent feature films before returning to South Africa in 2002.

In 2003 he joined Clearwater where he gained experience in on-air imaging and promotion.

Leo Smit's worked on live event production for Miss South Africa, the Kora All-Africa Music Awards as well as the Sho't Left Challenj.

In 2006 he returned to Clearwater as producer on the M-Net marketing account and in 2010 joined Monarchy in producing projects for M-Net Movies, as well as the title sequence for the M-Net soap The Wild.

In 2010 he worked as a commercials producer for Wicked Pixels, and will now be brand manager for M-Net's Afrikaans language TV channels supplied to MultiChoice's DStv satellite pay-TV platform.
