Al Jazeera calls again for documentary television pitches from African filmmakers for the 3rd Al Jazeera Pitching Session in Cape Town.
Al Jazeera (StarSat 401 / DStv 406) is again calling for pitches for TV documentary pitches from African filmmakers which they will be able to submit at the 16th Encounters South African International Documentary Festival.
The 3rd Al Jazeera Pitching Session for TV documentaries will take place at Encounters in Cape Town during the Encounters Documentary Festival taking place from 5 to 15 June.
Fifteen African filmmakers will be chosen to pitch their ideas and plans to Al Jazeera's commissioning editors and an audience in Cape Town during this time period.
The selected 15 filmmakers will get 7 minutes to pitch their film, with an additional 8 minutes for feedback and questions from the panel. Those chosen will have to be available for a one-day pitching workshop that will take place the day before the pitching forum.
Filmmakers and production companies who are interested have to send a one-page synopsis of their film, a biography of the filmmaker and contact details to Nerissa Solomon (nerissa@encounters.co.za) by 16:00 (South African time) Friday 9th May 2014. Selections will be confirmed by Tuesday, 13 May 2014.
