E! Entertainment (DStv 124) is drawing criticism for making a "fun fact" of Michael J. Fox's Parkinson's disease during its Live from the Red Carpet 2014 Golden Globes coverage on Sunday evening in the United States and shown early Monday morning in South Africa and around the world on its Eonline live stream, with E! Entertainment now issuing an apology.
E! Entertainment flashed on-screen the "fun fact" during its livestream coverage, that "Michael J. Fox was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 1991".
Michael J. Fox just returned to television in his new sitcom The Michael J. Fox Show which is broadcast on M-Net.
"We regret the insensitive classification of Michael J. Fox's Parkinson's diagnosis. We understand the serious nature of the disease and sincerely apologise," says E! Entertainment.
