The new SABC News 24-hour TV news channel's first live news event coverage is the funeral of Judge Pious Langa from Durban City Hall.

The new SABC News (DStv 404) 24-hour TV news channel did its first live event TV news coverage which started on Saturday morning at 10:00 with live coverage from Durban of the funeral of Judge Pious Langa from the Durban City Hall.

The channel stayed with funeral coverage from 10:00 until 13:30.

The exact same funeral coverage feed was simulcast at the same time on SABC2.
