Jenny McCarthy is joining the American weekday talk show The View following the departure of Elisabeth Hasselbeck last week.
Barbara Walters lied earlier in the year when she said Elisabeth Hasselbeck was not leaving The View. Barbara Walters lied again last week when she said that there wouldn't be a new co-host on The View in the near future when Elisabeth Hasselbeck left. Jenny McCarthy's addition to the show was long-rumoured.
"We are delighted that Jenny will be joining us as a permanent co-host on The View starting in September," says Barbara Walters, The View show creator in a statement.
"Jenny brings us intelligence as well as warmth and humor. She can be serious and outrageous. She has connected with our audience and offers a fresh point of view. Jenny will be a great addition to the show as we usher in an exciting new chapter of The View."
