Deen TV launches TV Presenter Search for news readers as well as other programmes which will also become a reality show on the channel.

Deen TV (TopTV 355) is launching a TV Presenter Search for news readers as well as for other programming.

The South African Muslim TV channel is planning to start news bulletins and is looking for news anchors, but is also scouting for new TV talent for various other programming.

"The channel will be auditioning for presenters to present programmes ranging across the genre board," says Faizal Sayed, Deen TV vice president and host of The Faizal Sayed Show.

According to Faizal Sayed Deen TV's news service will go into production over the next few months.

Auditions for the Deen TV presenter search will be conducted nationally, although news anchors will need to be based in Cape Town since the news will be produced from the Cape Town Studio. Field presenters are however required from across South Africa.

Presenters need to be eloquent in speech and "people who believe that they have the talent and ability to manage television presentation," says Farouk Arieff, Deen TV president.

People need to indicate whether they wish to audition for the news anchor positions or as a presenter for other programming. News readers also need the ability to write news reports and bulletins. Presenters wishing to audition for general programming need to prepare a brief script to present on camera to a panel of producers and directors.

The auditions for the Deen TV Presenter Search will also be shown on Deen TV.

"This is exciting times, especially when a channel looks into news production from a developmental point of view," says Faizal Sayed who will also serve on the judges panel for the Deen TV Presenter Search.

Deen TV's regional directors in Durban and Johannesburg, Hassim Jogee and Shamshad Sayed nare helping with the Presenter Search in their regions.

Auditions for The Deen TV Presenters Search in Cape Town Starts at 09:00 on Saturday 17 August at the Deen TV studios in Cape Town located on the corner of College and Ruth Roads, Rylands Estate, Athlone. Auditions for Durban and Johannesburg happens on 24 and 31 August respectively. Venues will be announced later.
