BREAKING. True Blood renewed for a 7th season of the vampire and werewolf drama.


True Blood, the American vampire werewolf adult drama has been renewed for a 7th season on the day that the 6th season starts in South Africa on M-Net Series Showcase (DStv 113).

True Blood holds the dubious distinction of being constantly moved around by pay-TV broadcaster M-Net, seemingly unsure of where it wants the supernatural show. First-run seasons of True Blood in South Africa has been seen on M-Net, then M-Net Action, then to M-Net Series, then to M-Net, then M-Net Series and with the 6th season starting now on M-Net Series Showcase.

Top One (DStv 150) has also shown the first three seasons of True Blood so far starring Anna Paquin, Stephen Moyer, Alexander Skargard and Joe Manganiello as werewolf Alcide.

"True Blood remains a signature show for HBO and a true phenomenon with our viewers," says Michael Lombardo, the president of programming in a statement for HBO, the American pay-TV channel showing True Blood. "The show continues to be a thrill ride like nothing else on TV."
