MediaSlutZA, the go-to source for news and ongoing coverage of South Africa's magazine biz has an eye-popping story over a South African magazine covering television's new redesign - which now has pages using the exact intellectual layout format of the British magazine, TV & Satellite Week.
The local magazine which changed its insides, now has some pages looking exactly like TV & Satellite Week as far as"pattern" and even page headers and adapted intro's are concerned with too striking similarities when displayed next to each other as MediaSlutZA has done.
MediaSlutZA shows these pages below at the story and noticed the same terminology and the strange eerily-too-similar duplication of the magazines' pages. The top page is the new "redesign", the bottom one is the United Kingdom's TV & Satellite Week pages:
On the "FilmFinder" page even called the same although it's entirely different magazines, even the sidebar colour is kept the same. MediaSlutZA calls the pages looking the same "too close for comfort".
Full disclosure - the local magazine which changed its insides is one of the publications I myself have worked for in the past and where I have spent many productive years and happy times until I decided that it was time to move on. During my time there I saw three redesigns as editors came and went.
