Eddie Izzard's Comedy Central stand-up comedy performance TV marathon in June and July is every Thursday at 20:55 starting tomorrow.
To celebrate the comedic genius Eddie Izzard's rare South African trip, Comedy Central (DStv 122) has created a two month schedule of Eddie Izzard-inspired programming, focusing on the stand-up comic's outstanding performances which Comedy Central is showing during June and July on South African television.
Viewers are able to tune in for Eddie Izzard's sparkly and surreal observational humour and rambling, whimsical monologues on television, or can go watch him at the Grand Arena at GrandWest casino in Cape Town on 18 June when he will appear live on stage in partnership with Comedy Central as part of his global stand-up tour, and thereafter in Johannesburg which have now added more tour dates.
Eddie Izzard's Force Majeure sees him touring throughout Europe and the United States, Africa, Russia, Australia, New Zealand, India, Nepal and the Far East.
Comedy Central will show Definite Article on Thursday 13 June at 20:55 (South African time), the sensational 1995 show that sold out London's Shaftesbury Theatre for 10 weeks and which won Eddie Izzard a British Comedy Award as top stand-up comedian.
Dress to Kill follows on Thursday 20 June at 20:55, Eddie Izzard's 5th live show, which marked his breakthrough in the United States and Canada. Dress to Kill won two Emmy Awards for writing and performing.
On 27 June at 20:55 Comedy Central has Glorious, based on the comedian's 1997 comedy tour. It's filmed at Labatt's Apollo Theatre.
Sexie follows on Comedy Central on 4 July at 20:55, performed in 2003 in Australia, New Zealand, Canada and the United States.
Filmed in one take, Unrepeatable on Thursday 4 July at 20:55 was recorded during Eddie Izzard's sold-out seven week run at the Albery Theatre in London in 1994.
