BREAKING. Is America Tonight, Al Jazeera's brand-new upcoming flagship daily news magazine show going to be seen globally?

Al Jazeera (DStv 406 / TopTV 401) is announcing that America Tonight will be its new hour long flagship news and current affairs magazine show coming to viewers on a daily basis once the new Al Jazeera America TV news channel launches later this year in the United States. It now begs one question: Will America Tonight be seen globally on Al Jazeera English?

It's highly conceivable that Al Jazeera will programme America Tonight - which will be seen in the United States at 03:00 (South African time; 21:00 in America) - to run globally for a worldwide audience, since it's describing the new show, custom-made for American viewers, as "the heart of its schedule" for Al Jazeera America.

BBC World News (DStv 400 / TopTV 400) for instance runs BBC World News America with Katty Kay daily on the global news channel. BBC World News America however as a news programme focusing on news with a United States perspective, is actually shown in America, and made specifically for, the BBC America channel.

In a similar vein America Tonight seen on Al Jazeera America might very well be channeled on Al Jazeera English as a simulcast daily show. America Tonight will present in-depth segments each night on the American economy, government, education, healthcare and the environment, and include breaking news.

America Tonight will be done from a new, state-of-the-art studio located at the Newseum in Washington, D.C.
