BREAKING. Triple play coming to M-Net Series as the channel on DStv plans to burn through seasons with two and three episodes per airing.

You're reading it here first.

As part of a new "internal scheduling strategy" M-Net Series (DStv 114), the M-Net supplied channel to MultiChoice's DStv platform, is planning to burn through seasons of shows from June, with up to three episodes directly after each other on one night.

While shows such as Golden Boy (above), Don't Trust that B-, The Hour, One Tree Hill, Do No Harm and Enlightened will bombard viewers with double episodes from June, there's an even bigger whammy waiting  in the form of triple episodes of shows shown in one go of Smash and Warehouse 13.

"Please don't panic these changes all form part of the scheduling strategy," says M-Net Series in a programming advisory which notes that "long winter nights are about to get rather interesting on M-Net Series because viewers can watch two or three episodes of some of their favourite shows following an internal scheduling strategy."

I'm told and can report that the M-Net Series scheduling strategy will only be for the month of June and that M-Net actually wants to clear the content. "The strategy is to make way to accomodate some of the new content that will start on the channel from July," I'm told.

M-Net Series' July schedule is currently being finalised. Below is the double and triple whammy watching waiting:

Golden Boy I, DOUBLE episodes from Monday 17 June, 19:30
Don't Trust That B- I, DOUBLE episodes from Tuesday 25 June, 19:30
The Hour II, DOUBLE episodes from Tuesday 11 June, 21:30
