SABC IN CHAOS & CRISIS: Dina Pule attacks SABC board; says board members who talked out made SABC lose viewers.

The SABC in chaos & crisis: The minister of communications Dina Pule, herself embroiled in scandal, is lashing out at the SABC board and today in parliament attacked the SABC board accusing them of being the cause of the SABC losing viewers because board members allegedly "leaked" vital information about the struggling broadcaster.

The SABC which is in total meltdown no longer has a board - only one of them is left after all except Claire O'Neil have now resigned en masse.

Dina Pule is accused of interfering in the affairs of the embattled public broadcaster. Only parliament's portfolio committee on communications is the oversight body over the SABC.

Yet Dina Pule would do things like have a "protracted meeting" with the resigned SABC chairperson and deputy chairperson dr. Ben Ngubane and Thami Ka Plaatjie to try and change their minds. She would say that the matricless Hlaudi Motsoeneng is still the acting COO of the SABC after the SABC board decided to removed him.

Today in parliament Dina Pule lashed out at the SABC board when she appeared before parliament's portfolio committee on communications, blatantly blaming the SABC board for allegedly speaking out about the conflict, turmoil and upheaval rocking the SABC and in the process divulging sensitive information about the embattled public broadcaster.

"That makes it easier for competitors to steal audiences from the SABC," Dina Pule told parliament. "Board members should treat some things as confidential."

"They exposed the SABC and strategic and sensitive information was made public," said Dina Pule.

She said that in October 2012 she met with the SABC board and "I asked the board to desist from taking their discussions to the public." Dina Pule said the SABC board "kept going to the media. I may be wrong in saying it's board members but no-one else has access to the information."

Dina Pule denied that she was guilty of political interference. "If I had interfered, some of the things at the SABC board would not have happened. I wish i had interfered," said Dina Pule.
