Chriselda Lewis, here's your chance. The eNCA is looking to beef up and expand its roster of strong senior specialist reporters and thereby bringing eNCA viewers better, more in-depth and more specialist news stories as well as documentaries.
The eNCA's new hiring spree for TV reporters with serious news cache, comes amidst plans for Infinity Media to launch the new 24-hour South African news channel ANN7 - or Africa News Network 7 - in August on MultiChoice's DStv platform.
The eNCA is now looking for senior reporters to join the 24-hour news channel in both Johannesburg as well as Cape Town.
The eNCA is looking for reporters and journalists with at least 10 years of experience - an indication that the news channel is looking for strong journalists who have the contacts, the connections, sources and the fat diaries of insiders and who not only knows how to do stories and get through doors but also break the news and set the news agenda.
Senior specialist reporters will have to cover breaking news but willalso be doing investigations, participate in special projects and work on eNCA commissioned documentaries. Senior reporters will have to be skilled in topics and know the current news situation regarding at least one of the fields of law, politics, science, medicine, business or economics.
The eNCA is looking for reporters with a thorough understanding of South African, African and global affairs, the ability to package news content in an understandable, informative and entertaining way, who have strong writing skills and of course the ability to report on breaking news.
