Travel Channel renews 8 shows all for further seasons from a coffee explorer to Airport 24/7 Miami, Ghost Adventures and Hotel Impossible.

The Travel Channel (DStv 179) has renewed several series among which Airport 24/7: Miami, Baggage Battles, Bizarre Foods America with Andrew Zimmern, Dangerous Grounds, The Dead Files, Ghost Adventures, Mysteries at the Museum and Hotel Impossible.

"This is an exciting time for Travel Channel as we renew a record number of television series that have resonated so well with our viewers," says Laureen Ong, the president of Travel Channel in America in a statement.

"As we work towards refreshing our programming line-up - away from the travelogues and more towards a lean forward experience - we plan to continue to break free from the traditional ideology behind travel programming, and bring our audience a diverse array of entertainment through the many unique perspectives of our travel experts and enthusiasts," says Laureen Ong.

"From the inner-workings of airports, to rescuing struggling hotels to the adrenaline-infused global quest for coffee, these returning series continue to offer viewers immersive, entertaining and exciting travel-related programming," says Andy Singer, the general manager of Travel Channel in America.

Airport 24/7 Miami has been renewed for a second season of 13 half hour episodes following the larger than life characters whose jobs it is to keep one of America's largest airports running.

Baggage Battles has been renewed for a 3rd season of 13 half hour episodes following people providing insights into the profitable business of bidding, buying and reselling unclaimed property. They travel to some of the most important auctions around the world - including airport auctions, unclaimed freight and shipping auctions to find find hidden treasures.

Bizarre Foods America with Andrew Zimmern has been renewed for an 8th season of 10 hour long episodes as the chef, writer and culinary explorer Andrew Zimmern continues his quest to taste the weird and wonderful foods to be found in the United States.

Dangerous Grounds has been renewed for a second season of 8 further hour long episodes. The coffee magnate and adventurer Todd Carmichael continues to hunt down rare strains of coffee in some of the most fascinating and unseen places in the world. Travel is his life and coffee fuels his passion for adventure. Buying directly from the growers means Todd Carmichael must encounter danger and opposition from entrenched middlemen.

The Dead Files has been renewed for a 4th season of 13 hour long episodes following the paranormal investigative duo Steve DiSchiavi and Amy Allan. They combine their skills to try and solve unexplained paranormal phenomena in so-called hunted locations across America.

Ghost Adventures has been renewed for an 8th season of 13 hour long episodes. The lead paranormal investigator Zak Bagans along with fellow investigators Nick Groff and Aaron Goodwin take viewers on a journey to some of the most terrifying and haunted locations as they travel across America and try to uncover and capture electrifying paranormal activity.

Hotel Impossible with hotel fixer Anthony Melchiorri has been renewed for a 3rd season and a further 13 hour long episodes.

Mysteries at the Museum has been renewed for a 5th season and a further 13 hour long episodes.

The show explores local archives, storefront collections and stately institutions with the museum explorer and history enthusiast Don Wildman looking for objects and artifacts which reveal America's hidden secrets.
