M-NET issues a SPOILER ALERT: Tuesday's episode of Private Practice will spoil something about the new 9th season of Grey's Anatomy.

In a superb and simply excellent example of pro-active and real subscriber-focused communication, M-Net is warning M-Net and M-Net Series viewers and DStv subscribers that tomorrow's episode of Private Practice on M-Net Series (DStv 114) contains a spoiler about the new upcoming season of its sister show Grey's Anatomy which will only be starting next month on M-Net.

In a just-issued spoiler alert from M-Net to the media, M-Net is warning that tomorrow's (15 January) episode of Private Practice at 20:30 on M-Net Series contains a spoiler about the upcoming 9th season of Grey's Anatomy which will be starting on M-Net (DStv 101) on 11 February at 19:30.

If, as an M-Net and M-Net Series viewer following Grey's Anatomy and watching Private Practice, you don't want the multiple cliffhangers of the 8th season finale of Grey's Anatomy spoiled, refrain from watching Tuesday's episode of Private Practice until after 11 February when you've first watched Grey's Anatomy.

Editor: I cannot remember when last I received any communication such as this, ahead of time and beautifully cognisant of episode content and placing the viewer and the viewers' experience first, from M-Net or any South African broadcaster. In fact, I'm incredibly impressed. This is how excellent TV channels and broadcasters (should) behave and communicate.

It tells me that someone at M-Net and M-Net Series actually watched what they broadcast and watched Private Practice. It tells me that someone at M-Net not only knows how Grey's Anatomy ended, but took time to find out what will be happening next.

It tells me that M-Net cares enough to not just sit on the information regarding something regarding overseas programming on its channels (which I by the way wasn't even aware of myself although I work hard to always try and look out for these things and give fair warning ahead of time to viewers), but took the trouble to actually also pro-actively alert the press and ahead of time.

Thank you M-Net, truly excellently well done.
