M-Net and the zombie apocalypse: Funny on-screen educational tells subscribers why a new episode might be slow coming over from America.

Well, South African pay-TV subscribers can only see the hit zombie drama The Walking Dead exclusively on TopTV's FX (TopTV 110) - one of those high-buzz, edgy TV shows which got away from M-Net - but that doesn't mean that M-Net has lost its sense of humour about it or zombies.

M-Net's clever-cool on-air promo for M-Net (DStv 101) and M-Net Series (DStv 114) to explain to subscribers and viewers why some episodes of "hot on the heels" shows have to be repeated in South Africa (because viewers now get to see episodes of several American shows much faster than ever before) is quite funny.

The effective on-air educational not only clearly and in a very cool way explains why M-Net is doing what it's doing and what the new benefits are to subscribers, it's also having some fun in the process.

Viewers who look closely will see a pop-up for "Zombie Apocalypse" as one "reason" as to why the broadcast of a new episode of a show on M-Net might be delayed.

Of course Zombie Apocalypse is not really a real reason, and neither is Strange Weather Phenomena. (Whooo ...)

Presidential Addresses however is a real reason. Shows are also delayed with new episodes coming out of America when there is breaking news coverage which causes American TV channels to clear their prime-time shows.

Or sometimes they pull new episodes of shows at the last minute when a rival channel suddenly comes up with an episode or a TV special they know everyone is going to be watching (it's called "counter-programming").
