Days of Our Lives as a TV soap likely to continue a few further years, 'Days is not going anywhere'.

The soap opera Days of Our Lives (weekdays, SABC3, 17:30) which current contract will be up in September isn't in any danger of getting cancelled and will remain a fixture on television around the world.

Days of Our Lives is currently the soap with the lowest viewership figures out of all 4 last remaining American soap operas on television, but Robert Greenblatt, the chairman of NBC, the TV network on which Days of Our Lives is broadcast in America, says the soap is safe and that he is confident that Days will still be on the air for a number of years to come.

Days of Our Lives is produced for NBC by Sony Pictures Television and the current contract runs out in September, unless NBC extends the longrunning soap.

"I think Days is going to stick around," Robert Greenblatt told American TV critics at the Television Critics Association press tour in Pasadena. "I don't know that I'm at liberty to say that officially yet, but it's [Days] not going anywhere."
