Venda primetime soap Muvhango on SABC2 to increase to 5 nights a week in 2013.
SABC2's Venda primetime soap Muvhango which just passed its 15th anniversary on SABC2 will extend to 5 nights per week in 2013 from the current four.
The SABC's acting chief operating officer (COO) Hlaudi Motsoeneng made the announcement that Muvhango will be incerasing to five episodes per week similar to what happened to 7de Laan which also grew from first three episodes per week to four and eventually also the viewer elusive Friday.
The Word of Mouth production has lobbied since at least 2006 for Muvhango to go five nights a week on SABC2, although channel heads have not budged since the show went to three episodes per week for over half a decade.
Now SABC2's schedule will undergo further refinement in 2013 when both its local soaps, Muvhango and 7de Laan are stripped on weeknights, making it a further bit easier for viewers who are habitual in their viewing patterns, to know when what will be on on the often-confusing multilanguage channel of the publi broadcaster.
No specific starting date in 2013 was given by Hlaudi Motsoeneng for when Muvhango will ramp up from four night per week to five episodes.
