e.tv to change its red-letter channel logo and on-air imaging again on 1 January 2013 with a brand-new tagline: 'Free your imagination'.


I was called last week and told that e.tv will be refreshing the commercial free-to-air TV station's red-letter channel logo and look from 1 January 2013 - and now I can show how it will look: an enhanced 3D rendering with translucent tones and a new tagline of "Free your imagination".

With the refreshed look I can reveal will come a new e.tv website with hugely enhanced functionality - and I've also heard talk of streaming video capability for some of e.tv's TV properties which viewers will be able to watch online from 2013.

"The facelift will reveal a brand that holds true the sentimentals of who we are as South Africans in every element," says Monde Twala, e.tv's channel head. "It's important that the brand stays at the pulse of this dynamic, culturally-diverse country."

The e.tv look update will include a refresh of e.tv's channel logo, as well as a thematic overhaul of all channel material including the on-air imaging and the TV channel's website.

"We took into account the future of television in South Africa and have made the necessary tweaks to ensure that we will remain relevant, dynamic and well positioned for future growth," says Monde Twala.
