TopTV, a company currently in business rescue, has made no announcements, has not communicated a single word about MUTV being gone and suddenly not being available, or said anything to explain what has happened to MUTV, leaving subscribers none the wiser as to what happened.
After TopTV subscribers reached out to me to ask what happened and why MUTV is missing (not even I know this time), I reached out to the South African pay-TV operator asking whether the company has any explanation, comment or statement as to what has happened to MUTV. If TopTV communicates on the missing MUTV matter, I will report it.
MUTV which debuted in 1998 is the official TV channel for Manchester United that broadcast across the world on several pay TV services. MUTV with its studios at Old Trafford and Carrington broadcast a steady stream of soccer documentaries, matches and classic matches, interviews with players, press conferences, match analysis and all kinds of football news.
TopTV subscribers who try to tune to channel 205,will only get the message that channel 205 is not available. Previously when TopTV lost channels, the pay-TV operator would still keep the channel active with a channel feed customer screen advising subscribers than a replacement channel is being sought or that there are technical difficulties. Now 205 is completely gone.
On Sunday at 18:26 TopTV said MUTV disappeared "late on Friday". TopTV indicated to me that the pay-TV operator will respond with a statement on Monday.
