BREAKING. SABC to live stream the Marikana Commission of Enquiry on the internet today at SABC News and on YouTube.
In an amazing sign of progress at the SABC and SABC News, the public broadcaster has announced that the SABC will be live streaming this morning's testimony by the South African Police Service (SAPS) in from of the Marikana Commission of Enquiry when hearings resume today.
The SABC will be live streaming the Marikana Commission hearing in Rustenburg on the SABC News website at www.sabc.co.za/news as well as on the SABC's YouTube channel. The broadcaster will also carry stories about today's hearing on television, radio and the SABC News website.
"As public broadcaster, we believe it is in the interest of various audiences to have access to these hearings," says Jimi Matthews, the SABC's acting head of news and current affairs. "As a broadcaster that aims to shape the way news is consumed in South Africa, we believe that online streaming offers a convenient alternative for those who have access to the internet on computers and mobile devices."
