BREAKING. eNCA satellite van and eNCA reporter Leigh-Ann pummeled with rocks and a brick by Swellendam protesters.

A satellite van of the 24-hour South African news channel eNCA (DStv 403) and reporter Leigh-Ann Jansen has been pummeled with stones, rocks and a brick by angry protesters in Swellendam this evening from where Leigh-Ann Jansen is covering the violence which erupted over service delivery in the town.

The eNCA satellite truck is damaged. "Our satellite truck has been hit by a brick, so that is damaged," said Leigh-Ann Jansen.

Leigh-Ann Jansen, whilst reporting, had to suddenly hide behind the eNCA satellite van when protesters started throwing rocks at the eNCA.

"So many things raced through my mind," said Leigh-Ann Jansen. "I needed to make sure that everything in the satellite truck was protected. I had to safeguard myself, and my camera operator Tommy Davids."

"Because it's so dark you can't see where the bricks are coming from."
