BREAKING. Discovery Channel covers Hurricane Sandy with a special Curiosity episode entitled 'Super Storm' for Sunday 25 November.


In a brilliant and quick-acting programming strategy The Discovery Channel (DStv 121) is rushing a Hurricane Sandy special to air which South African viewers will be able to see as part of the new season of Curiosity on Sunday 25 November at 21:50.

The special episode of Curiosity, entitled " Super Storm" will track what caused Hurricane Sandy and it became such a powerful storm which devastated the east coast of America.

The one hour special will follow the action hour-by-hour from the hurricane's formation in the Caribbean through its intensification in Cuba to the devastation across the American coastline.

Using on-the-ground expert analysis, CGI and satellite imaging, Curiosity explores houw four distinct weather phenomena combined to create the perfect storm and how people have to prepare for the next one.

The Curiosity episode will take viewers inside the storm with footage captured by those on the ground using their own cameras and smartphones while survivors share their stories and recount what it was like as Sandy engulfed their city.
