BREAKING. SABC1 dumping Jam Alley and Jika Majika; changing Live, and retooling Mzansi Insider as a current affairs talk show.


SABC1 is dumping Jam Alley, Jika Majika; changing Live to Live Amp, revamping the struggling Mzansi Insider and moving Kidnapped to a new timeslot in an attempt to boost the channel's viewership.

Live will be replaced with Live Amp starting Friday 14 September at 21:00 without popular presenter Bonang. SABC1 says the channel is looking for a male presenter to join Luthando Shosha.

Jika Majika is over after 10th seasons and will be replaced by the 2nd season of Turn It Out, now titled Turn It Out Street Battle from Wednesday 24 September at 19:00 - and without presenter Mac Leshomo. The 2nd season of Turn It Out Street Battle will take to the streets of Gauteng, Durban and Cape Town to create a series of 26 urban dance battles with some of South Africa's top street dancers.

Jam Alley is gone after the 26th season's final episode on Friday 21 September,to be replaced by a new show entitled Fan Base starting on Friday 28 September at 18:30 on SABC1. SABC1 describes Fan Base as "a playful, light-hearted and fun-filled music variety show. The Fan Base presenter is Zulu Boy.

The entertainment magazine show Mzansi Insider is getting revamped again with presenter Kedibone Mkhabela to become more of a current affairs talk show. Comedians Sifiso Nene and Skumbi will form part of the studio panel.

SABC1 is also moving Kidnapped to a new timeslot. Kidnapped will be shown on Wednesdays from 12 September at 22:00 while the original Sunday night 20:00 timeslot is now being reserved for movies on SABC1.
