The first season of Ultimate Spider-Man will start on Disney XD (DStv 304) on Saturday 1 September at 08:00.

Stan Lee, the famed co-creator of Spider-Man (who also provides the voice of Stan the Janitor in Ultimate Spider-Man) gave a pull-quote to Disney XD. "It's a thrill to see that the highest standards in story telling are so perfectly exemplified by Spider-Man leaping from the pages of the comic book onto the screen to be enjoyed by a new generation."
Ultimate Spider-Man will start on Disney XD in South Africa as part of a "Marvel Block" on Disney XD which will include besides Ultimate Spider-Man also the other animation shows The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes and Iron Man: Armored Adventures.
"The Marvel block on Disney XD will be the go-to destination for the excitement and energy of the latest Marvel series," says Tricia Wilber, the general manager for Disney Channels for the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region in a press statement.
"The appetite for the Marvel Universe programming is evident from the incredible success of Marvel's The Avengers movie, and the Disney XD audience will be thrilled by the fun, action, adventure and relatable characters that Marvel will deliver."
