FOR THE RECORD. 'Welcome as we change from the eNews Channel to eNCA'.
When the eNews Channel changed to simply eNCA (DStv 403) with a new on-air look and name on Sunday night 19 August at 19:00 this is what was said:
"It is 7pm and welcome as we change from the eNews Channel to eNCA - eNews Channel Africa; all ahead of our global launch on the Sky satellite platform in the United Kingdom. I'm Iman Rappetti."
"Good evening, I'm Jeremy Maggs. We'll also tell you more about eNCA, the big brand change and also our plans for the United Kingdom."
In a news insert later, Shahan Ramkissoon incorporated a video flashback to when eNews started with nightly news bulletins on e.tv with San Reddy; years later the start of the eNews Channel, and looking at the progression of the news division as well as its presentation style.
"With it came live news coverage. Then came eNews Africa in 2009. And 2010 saw the launch of eNuus. Now eNews is launching in the United Kingdom on the Sky digital satellite platform where 10 million subscribers will have access to news from South Africa."
