Local schmaltz and sexy drama coming to e.tv in a new 'African Mills & Boon' drama series, Mzansi Love.

e.tv is bringing local schmaltz and sexy drama to South African television with a new drama series, Mzansi Love, set to start on the channel towards the end of July or August the broadcaster told me yesterday.

Mzansi Love is based on the so-called "Nollybooks" - the "African" version of the schmaltzy pink romance novels made famous by publisher Mills & Boon.

In this genre dashing, handsome fellows lovingly pursue beautiful maidens after which follows over-the-top sexy time with thrusts and all kinds of sweaty, embraceful and torridly tempestuous human movements as two people find themselves in the throes of passion.

Moky Makurau who basically launched he African genre is working with e.tv on the show currently in production. "It's going to be big," e.tv tells me, who already has the local drama 4Play - Sex tips for Girls on screen.
