"As SABC we're very shock. We're not expecting this. As you know, I mean, financially, we are not sound," says Hlaudi Motsoeneng, the SABC's acting chief operatign officer (COO) about the blaze which has destroyed Studio 6 at Henley Park at the SABC and which has gutted and destroyed the SABC's Isidingo set last night. "This is something we don't know how to handle it, but I think we will get there."

Fire fighters are still on the scene of the blaze which swept through the SABC and which took three hours to get under control. SABC3 was cut off for a few minutes. Some fire fighters were overcome by the thick smoke.

Studio 6 at the SABC completely burnt down with full sets that were parked in there says, Tseliso Ralitabo, the acting general manager of Henley Studios at the SABC. "It will be a case of having to rebuild sets quickly. We'll have to use Studio 7 and I'm sure we can still save the production and keep recording."
