BREAKING. BET expands the TV channel's footprint and presence into 5 further countries in Africa.


BET (TopTV 190) is expanding the TV channel's footprint and presence in Africa with Viacom International Media Networks Africa (VIMN Africa) which has made the TV channel available on Nigeria, Ghana, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe on the My TV platform since 1 June.

In South Africa BET is available on On Digital Media's (ODM) TopTV platform, and in the rest of Africa is carried on the pay TV platforms of MultiChoice's DStv, Zuku, Star Times and My TV. The BET Awards '12 will be shown on BET on 3 July at 21:00 (South African time).

"BET is a great addition to our portfolio in sub-Saharan Africa and we are delighted to partner with My TV to further expand BET to audiences in East, West and Central Africa," says Alex Okosi, the senior vice president and managing director of VIMN Africa.
