300 KM JUST TO AUDITION: The My Top Billing Dream presenter search goes to Polokwane.

It sells a dream, so its fitting that the word appears in the title. The My Top Billing Dream reality show and presenter search on SABC3 visited Polokwane recently on its nationwide audition process, and as contestants lined up - some who have travelled 300 km to do an audition - it's now strikingly clear that this will be the new most-buzzed reality TV show of the season.

The nationwide audition process which is attracting record crowds to different cities also indicates something else - that the enthusiasm with which a large group of people are showing up might probably the precursor of  big ratings once the My Top Billing Dream starts its broadcast on SABC3.

In the Limpopo province hundreds of people lined-up at the Protea Hotel Ranch Resort. Top Billing insert director Buddy Gaylard, cameraman Wimpie Ackerman and Top Billing presenter Lorna Maseko were the judges in the city.

"The callbacks are always difficult to judge," says Lorna Maseko. "That's when you get to unearth the true talent and see what people are really made of. We've seen some really great auditions in Polokwane."

My Top Billing Dream starts as 3 one hour, weekly TV specials from Saturday 16 June, 23 June and 30 June on SABC3 at 13:00.

Then My Top Billing Dream as a reality show takes over the regular Tuesday Top Billing timeslot of 20:00 on Tuesdays through June and July which will be devoted to the drama, thrills and comedy of the finalists being whittled down.

The presenter search as a reality show will test the 10 finalists with all the challenges the Top Billing presenters face on set as they produce the best of South African lifestyle television.

The winner will be chosen on Tuesday 7 August in a tension-filled live finale show of My Top Billing Dream on SABC3.
