The SABC and the South African Football Association (Safa) to hold a joint press conference today officially announcing that new deal.

The SABC's new CEO, Lulama Mokhobo, and the South African Football Association (Safa) CEO Robin Petersen will have a joint press conference today Tuesday 15 May about the public broadcaster and the soccer body's new 3 year deal which is believed to be worth R220 million and which I reported RIGHT HERE would be signed last week.

The two organisations will officially announce the deal which will bring greater stability to the SABC's erratic soccer scheduling, more certainty about the broadcast of matches and less pressure (and hopefully less money to be paid) in hastily last-minute once-off and acrimonious deals the SABC signed the last year for some matches in which Bafana Bafana played, especially abroad.

It's not clear if the SABC will be broadcasting the press conference today.
