Planet Earth Live, the BBC's most ambitious wildlife series ever undertaken, is showing in South Africa on BBC Knowledge (DStv 251) on SUndays at 21:00 and 139 other countries in the world.
Planet Earth Live is the latest synchronised worldwide broadcast from BBC Worldwide, following the planet's most charismatic animals days and night with the help of award-winning BBC Natural History Unit filmmakers and international wildlife specialists. It's the same team who did the brilliant Frozen Planet.
Planet Earth Live is filmed in 6 different time zones, across 5 diverse continents and 7 locations using spectacular cinematography, real-time filming techniques and up-close wildlife footage chrnoicling the young animals' struggle for survival.
Planet Earth Live follows baby elephants in Kenya, black bears in Minnesota, macaque monkeys in Sri Lanka, meerkats in South Africa, grey whales in the Pacific and lion cubs in the Masaai Mara.
"We are the only network in the world which can broadcast the biggest wildlife series ever undertaken to an international audience, across multiple platforms," says David Weiland, the senior vice president for programming and TV channels from BBC Worldwide in a statement.
