At the joint press conference held today of the SABC and the South African Football Association (Safa) the SABC's new CEO Lulama Mokhobo said "the days of blackouts are over. Not even a tsunami will move it."
The SABC and Safa guaranteed coverage of national soccer matches to be broadcast on the public broadcaster for the next 3 years. Matches in which South Africa's national soccer team known as Bafana Bafana, the SA Under-23 national side and Banyana Banyana play, will get priority for the next 36 months in the new deal.
