I can exclusively break the news and reveal that an epic new TV show is coming - Ultimate Spider-Man to Disney XD (DStv 304) in South Africa!
This brand-new animation show that just started in America on the Disney XD channel there at the beginning of this month is a big buzz-getter - as rightly it should. Ultimate Spider-Man is written by the most star-studded creative team in Superhero TV history, including some of the most influential names in comic books and popular culture.
Here's what I can reveal and which - if you've ever had a Spider-Man duvet or pajamas or have a kid who has - you simply dare not miss. Disney XD which has Ultimate Spider-Man exclusively, will show a very special sneak peek of this Marvel show on Saturday 19 May at 12:50 - just perfect for daddy-longlegs and their little spider monkeys to watch together. (It will be repeated on that day at 16:30 and 19:35).
Then I can tell you that that Disney XD is planning yet another sneak peek of the show for June.
And I can exclusively break the news that Ultimate Spider-Man will start in South Africa on Disney XD sometime in September according to sources - a specific broadcasting date doesn't exist yet.
Stan Lee, the famed co-creator of Spider-Man (who also provides the voice of Stan the Janitor in Ultimate Spider-Man) gave a pull-quote to Disney XD. "It's a thrill to see that the highest standards in story telling are so perfectly exemplified by Spider-Man leaping from the pages of the comic book onto the screen to be enjoyed by a new generation."
Ultimate Spider-Man revolves around a teenage Peter Parker (voiced by Drake Bell) juggling high school and of course the after-effects of that teensy weensy spider bite. Nick Fury invites Peter Parker to join his S.H.I.E.L.D. organization, where Peter's alter-ego, Spider-Man, will join forces with four other teenage superheroes – Nova, White Tiger, Power Man and Iron Fist.
