Same judges for the 2nd season of Step Up Or Step Out on e.tv but with Khabonina Qubeka replacing the axed Penny Thloloe.
I broke the news last year already that e.tv's popular new reality show Step Up Or Step Out - which did very well viewership wise will definitely be back this year (Popstars never will again) - and today e.tv announced the Step Up Or Step Out judges for the second season.
They're all back except for Penny Thloloe who got dumped by the Endemol SA production and replaced by Khabonina Qubeka. Back is Arthur Mafokate and Emile YX?).
Dalen Lance is the presenter again who e.tv describes as ''bubbly'' (heavens, who are these people who write these things? If I'm ever described as ''bubbly'' bring a stick and start beating.)
The second season of Step Up Or Step Out with executive producer Marie Rosholt will start on e.tv on Sunday 29 April at 18:05 with the additional show, Step Up Or Step Out Flipside starting on Saturday 5 May at 13:30.
''We are focused on keeping the show appealing to our viewers,'' says Monde Twala, e.tv's channel head. ''We welcome the versatile Khabonina to the judging panel and we are confident that our viewers will fall in love with the talented choreographer, dancer, singer and actress.''
''We believe her offbeat sense of humour and dynamite personality will add great value to an outstanding judging team,'' says Marie Rosholt.
I asked e.tv why Penny Thloloe was axed from Step Up Or Step Out but only got one of those soggy we're-divorced-but-we-still-love-each-other answers which was anyway old and heated up since it also mentioned the judges will be announced soon (does anyone at e.tv like, read?).
''Her contribution in our first season of Step Out or Step Out was well received by viewers across South Africa but it is important that we rejuventate the show to keep it appealing to our audience. Step Up Or Step Out is evolving so many other changes can be expected during the second season. One of the changes is that Penny will no longer be a judge on Step Up Or Step Out. We value Penny's contribution to the show, she played a vital role in season one.''
